Cape Town - Moeneeb Josephs lamented a lack of killer instinct from Bidvest Wits after they failed to advance to the MTN8 final at the expense of Ajax Cape Town.
The Students were dumped out of the competition after 2-1 aggregate loss to the Urban Warriors, who won the second leg 1-0 in Johannesburg on Sunday.
The Urban Warriors will now face Kaizer Chiefs in the final at a date yet to be announced, denying Wits their 22-year wait for a final appearance in the top-eight tournament.
"We should be wrapping up these games. Lately luck has not been on our side. If we want to be winning titles we should be winning games like these," Josephs bemoaned after the match.
"The red card disrupted our structure but as you could see with 10 men we still had a go at them.
"We can't fault our guys for effort and hunger to try to get back into the game. But that was always going to be tough.
"Being down one man there was a lot of space and that's where we were exposed today. We have to make our own luck sometimes."
