Johnson: We must keep cool heads

Cape Town - Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson says that his side needs to keep their feet on the ground despite being first on the PSL table.

Dikwena were left wounded in the 2012/13 as they finished the Absa Premiership as runners-up to Kaizer Chiefs.

Johnson was steering the Rustenburg side’s ship during that campaign.

It was a season which would be his last before he went on to coach SuperSport United.

However things didn’t go as planned and the coach was sacked five games into his second season with Matsastansta.

Now Johnson is back at Stars and they find themselves back at the top of the pile where he left them but 56-year-old now wants his side to keep their cool while the rest of the league chase play catch up.

“I am happy that we are doing well but it is too early for us to make anything out of the log at this moment," Johnson said as quoted by KickOff.

“We must keep cool heads, we must remain focused because if we do not do this then this will come back to bite us.

“A league is a marathon. You go through good patches and you go through bad patches. We are going through a good patch at the moment but there will be a lot of competition going forwards,” he adds.

Meanwhile, Stars take on Ajax Cape Town on Sunday, October 18 in a PSL encounter at the Moruleng Stadium

Kick-off is at 15:30.
