Johannesburg - Johan Neeskens, named as coach of Mamelodi Sundowns at Gallagher Estate in Midrand on Tuesday, said he was hoping to continue his winning ways with his new club.
"I'm a winner," said Neeskens, a former Dutch International who played in both the 1974 and 1978 World Cup tournaments and has 20 years' experience as a coach, dating back to 1991.
"I want to win as many things with this club as possible."
Neeskens was assistant coach at Barcelona between 2006 to 2008 and, more recently was assistant coach at Galatasaray in Turkey.
"I achieved what I did in my playing career through dedication and I had to work very hard," said Neeskens.
"As a coach I do the same. I also expect the same from the people I am going to work with.”
"I want to play attacking, attractive football. I want to give the fans the chance to enjoy our football and for them to go home happy with what they've seen."
Neeskens explained he would steer clear of controversy by avoiding public criticism of other coaches and players.
"I will not tolerate any player criticising another player or coach. I don't do that.
"I know for the media it is interesting to hear these things but it won't happen here," he added.
Sundowns also announced they had signed five new players for the coming season after the recent loss of seven players in the off-season.
