Igesund pleased with every signing

Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Gordon Igesund says that he is glad that his new signings have been made to feel at home and trusts they will adapt well as the season progresses further.

Igesund told Sport24 that he is pleased with every signing that he has made and that it is very exciting for him to not only have penned seasoned experienced players but young players from the club's academy as well.

“Obviously as a footballer you know you’ll always be playing,” the United mentor said.

“We have these players who have been playing on the other side of the world and it’s different but they have been adapting very well.

“Bongani Khumalo won’t need much time catching and I trust Dean Furman will follow suit as well, because he is familiar with South African football.

“Everyone has made these players feel at home and we are a family which is very important. They are enjoying themselves.

“This absolutely very exciting for me personally because not only seasoned players but I have brought in these young guys and, they are looking very good.

“These guys are all U18 and I like the balance I am seeing in the team.

“I am not concerne about the age because I know what they bring to the table.

“I mean the average age ratio is 23.4 in the team and that gives a good balance."

Matsantsantsa managed a 1-1 draw against Mpumalanga Black Aces this past Saturday, August 22 at Mbombela Stadium with Jeremy Brockie on the scoresheet.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
