Johannesburg - Gordon Igesund has tipped his former team Mamelodi Sundowns to win the Absa Premiership title this season.
The Free State Stars coach believes that this year’s title will go down to the wire, with Sundowns winning on the last day.
This is after the Brazilians beat Ajax Cape Town 1-0 on Sunday to keep pressure on SuperSport United.
Speaking to the Siya crew after their 2-0 loss to SuperSport on Saturday, Igesund said that Downs have the advantage because of their games in hand.
“I still think that Sundowns have a big chance! They have a game in hand now and if they win that game there’s no doubt it will go down to the wire,” said Igesund.
“The difference is SuperSport have a better goal difference and if they go on and win their matches and Sundowns do the same it will mean SuperSport will win the title. But one draw opens the door for Sundowns to come in and snatch it, there is a lot of pressure on both teams,” he concluded.
