Johannesburg - Gavin Hunt’s decision to swear on live TV in Tuesday night’s post game interview, after losing to Mamelodi Sundowns, may land the SuperSport United coach in hot water with the PSL for bringing the league into disrepute.
This is according to the PSL’s Public Relations Officer Altaaf Kazi.
The coach clearly let his frustrations bubble over in the interview after the match when he pointed out the referee’s failure not to award his team a penalty.
At the time Hunt said, “I can’t believe we didn’t get the penalty, it was a blatant hand ball!”
Kazi told the Siya crew that there were fines in place for such offences and that it would be PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu’s decision as to whether or not Hunt would receive any penalties.
He said, “It is PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu’s decision as to whether or not to charge Hunt. Hunt did bring the league into disrepute by swearing on live TV, but we must first review the evidence before we bring up any charges against the coach.”
