Cape Town - Wits coach Gavin Hunt says he is delighted to see old friend Gordon Igesund back in the local fold ahead of their Telkom Knockout showdown in Johannesburg this weekend.

Veterans on the local scene, Hunt and Igesund, now with SuperSport United, will clash for the first time since March 2012, before Igesund was appointed national coach.

"It's good to have Gordon back. It's good to have good quality coaches in the league. Gordon has won many trophies," Hunt said in Johannesburg on Thursday.

Igesund's contract with Bafana Bafana came to an end earlier this year, prompting his move to SuperSport – Hunt's former employer.

Igesund, who had previously said he missed the daily contact with players while in charge of the national team, said he too felt delighted to be sitting alongside Hunt at Thursday's media conference.

"We all know the competitiveness of Gavin. We've met many times, we're good friends and we're going to enjoy the occasion," Igesund said.

Having won four league games in a row under Igesund, SuperSport went down 1-4 to Maritzburg United on Wednesday night, suffering their first defeat since he took over as coach.
