Hunt not worried by Downs

Johannesburg - SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt says he is not worried about Mamelodi Sundowns' blistering early form in the PSL.

The Brazilians are currently leading the standings with 12 points after a four-game winning streak, which includes a 2-1 victory over the defending champions.

However, the PSL coach of the year is not concerned by Matsatsantsa's blip as he eyes 58 points - a target he believes will result in a record fourth championship.

"Every team is going to have bad times as well just like us," Hunt told this website.

"We have to be worried about ourselves, if we can make 58 points then we will be fine.

"Every team will lose games and it is better we lose now and finish well, because every year we finished badly, may be we will finish well this season."

The former Black Leopards and Moroka Swallows coach, who just returned from Brazil after spending a week with SC International, warned people not to write his side off.

"We are looking that far ahead unlike Sundowns who are talking about winning the league after four games; can you win the league after four games? Let's see how they will be after 23 games is still long way to go," he added.

Meanwhile, Hunt also believes that the PSL can learn a lot from the Brazilian league.

"The players play up to three games a week, which is the opposite in our league," explained the coach.

"There is the Brazilian league, State league, under-20 league and the under-23 league. It's just football and more football. Here we just don't play enough football.

"Cup football is too disruptive in our country it's like we will re-start the league all over again in our next games."
