Hunt backs Bucs to win title

Johannesburg - SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has ruled his side out of the title race, and feels that Orlando Pirates will be able to defend their trophy this season.

Current champions Pirates are top of the table by two points with four games to go, while Matsatsantsa are in third, three points behind the Bucs.

Hunt said in the Pretoria News: "I think Pirates will win the league. I don't see anyone beating them.

"They have got the best squad. Pirates and Sundowns are favourites.

"We are nowhere near winning it. I am not trying to be modest. I am trying to be realistic.

"We threw the league away when we drew all those games. I don't think we have got much chance."

While Hunt may be counting Pirates' chickens too early, he knows that his side can influence where the title ends up, as United have to face Kaizer Chiefs, Pirates and second-placed Sundowns in the next few games.

Hunt added: "We just have to play and enjoy ourselves. We will certainly decide who wins the league."

For Hunt's prediction to come true, the Bucs will need to do well against Ajax, SuperSport, Celtic and Golden Arrows.
