Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has heaped praise on all the Clever Boys promoted under-19 players.

Wits kept their top-three ambitions alive as they secured a 2-1 win over newly-crowned Premiership champions Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium

According to KickOff, Hunt has credited his younger players after he promoted eight players from The Students youth setup.

“We’ve played like this all season, but we’ve missed those opportunities all along. There was another one where Jabu Shongwe should have scored,” Hunt said.

“But the most important thing is that we brought the most kids on this year; eight kids from the Under-19s. There is no other team in South Africa who has done that.

“We are lying fourth in the League and all these kids played their part during the year. When you produce eight kids in a year and still come fourth … I’m very happy.”
