Johannesburg - SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has categorically denied that he will be moving to Kaizer Chiefs next season. Shortly after picking up his second Absa Premiership title, Hunt pledged his continued commitment to Matsatsantsa, saying.
“I am not going anywhere. I am staying with SuperSport United next season.”
Hunt’s statement effectively scotches persistent rumours that he is one of the candidates earmarked to replace Muhsin Ertugral at Naturena next season.
Also linked to the vacant position as head coach at Amakhosi is former Ghana national team coach Ratomir Dujkovic.
“I am very happy with what I have achieved at SuperSport in my second year and I am already looking forward for more success at the club next season,” Hunt says.
“Everyone involved deserves praise, management, players and our supporters whose voices kept encouraging us throughout the season.
“I am expecting things to be tougher for us next season, but with the same commitment and hard work from everybody I am quite confident that this team will reach even greater heights next season,” Hunt said.
The former Hellenic player refused to speculate on any changes in the squad for next season even though Andre Arendse is reported to be ready to hang up his gloves while Elias Pelembe and Anthony Laffor continue to be linked with moves overseas.
