Hunt: Football is a cruel game

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt bemoaned his side's loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in a 4-2 thriller at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, August 22.

Zimbabwean striker Cuthbert Malajila grabbed a brace while Khama Billiat and Teko Modise scored a goal apiece for Sundowns.

A brace from veteran winger Daine Klate could not save Wits as their fellow title rivals walked away with all three points.

Hunt criticized the physicality of Sundowns in his post-match interview, claiming that two-goal hero Malajila should have seen red in the first half.

"We didn't deserve to lose; we should have won the game clearly," Hunt said.

"Football is a cruel game sometimes and we didn't get the rub of the green.

"Cuthbert scored two goals, but to be fair he should have been red-carded in the first half - he should have been off the field.

"All credit to them - they break, they score, but there was only really one team here today and - it's football for you."
