Bloemfontein - Bloemfontein Celtic came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with Free State Stars in their Premiership match at Free State Stadium on Sunday. The hosts were trailing 2-0 just after the interval, and it looked Ea Lla Koto were destined to claim the bragging rights in the Free State derby.
Luyolo Nomandela and Basit Adam gave Stars the lead, and Musa Nyatama and Rodrick Mutuma both scored to salvage a point for Celtic.
The encounter started slowly, and Ruzaigh Gamaldien nearly gave Celtic the lead in the 18th minute but his header was just wide.
In the 28th minute former Celtic player Danny Venter went for goal, but his powerful shot was easily dealt with by Cameroonian keeper Patrick Tignyemb.
Stars caught the hosts off guard with Nomandela scoring the opening goal in the 40th minute from Venter's neat cross following a quick counter attack down the right wing.
Five minutes after the interval, Celtic went a further goal down.
Adam fired in a shot from the edge of the area which had the beating of Tignyemb to make it 2-0 to Stars.
Nyatama reduced the deficit in the 58th minute when he dribbled past the Stars defence before beating the keeper to make it 2-1.
The goal inspired Phunya Selesele and the substitute Mutuma duly grabbed the equaliser in the 72nd minute with a superb header from a Mogorosi's cross.
