'Home games are vital'

Cape Town - New AmaZulu coach Steve Barker hopes that he can turn Moses Mabhida Stadium into a difficult place for any visiting opponents.

Speaking to the clubs official website, Barker reiterates the sentiment that winning home games are vital for AmaZulu.

“I think it [the home games] is vitally important, it was good for me to come out here, have a bit of a crowd making a little bit of a buzz and making it difficult for the opponents,” said Barker, after AmaZulu beat AmaTuks at home in midweek.

“If you fail to win your home games you are going to make it really difficult on yourself, I think it’s time that this club becomes a team that is difficult to beat at home and we must pick up as many points as we can.

“We have four games left before the break, two more home games which will be crucial, winnable games. One win doesn’t make a summer, there is a lot of work still to be done.”
