Harrison slams PSL decision

Johannesburg - Chippa United coach Mark Harrison has reacted furiously to the Premier Soccer League play-off fiasco, describing the situation as "absolute rubbish".

According to the Football411 website, the Chilli Boys and Santos kicked off the promotion-relegation mini-league on Wednesday evening, with the Philippi Stadium encounter finishing goalless to leave the pair with a share of the spoils.

However, the result is only a 'provisional' one as Thanda Royal Zulu's legal appeal regarding the play-offs has resulted in the high court instructing the PSL to announce before each match that "the results of the fixtures are provisional, pending a finalisation of the review appeal by Thanda Royal Zulu".

Harrison, who became Chippa's sixth coach of the season in April before lifting them off the foot of the PSL table to earn a play-off spot, has slammed the handling of the situation, describing it as "a joke."

"We haven't really spoken about it all, to be honest with you, we just prepped for the game. But then we found out before the game all that garbage about these games are provisional," Harrison told The Sowetan.

"These points are provisional. It's absolute rubbish. It's nothing short of a joke. Whoever is in control needs to sort it out."

Chippa are next in play-off action against Black Aces on Saturday, while the following fixture, between Santos and Aces, only takes place on June 20 due to the international break.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
