Habas: Sundowns eyeing title

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Antonio Lopez Habas says there is a growing belief that his side can win the title this season.

The Brazilians made it four wins from four games in the league when they overcame Santos 1-0 on Wednesday evening.

Katlego Mphela's stunning strike just before the interval was enough to ensure the men from Chloorkop maintained their perfect start to the season.

"Santos are a tough team to play, they are very defensive," he said after the game.

"But because we scored a goal they were forced to change their game plan as they were forced to come out and attack. This then gave us the chance to create more chances."

Sundowns face Soweto giants Orlando Pirates in their next league tie and the Spanish-born mentor is under no illusions of the size of the task awaiting his side.

He continued: "Our focus is now on the next game which is against Orlando Pirates and we have to train hard for that one.

"The team must now believe that it is possible to win the league.

"We want to win the league but there is still a long way to go, we have only played four matches and their are 26 more to go," he concluded.
