Johannesburg - Clive Barker believes that the signing of Sboniso Gumede has been a revelation for Mpumalanga Black Aces.
According to Soccer Laduma, Barker admits that the 29-year-olds arrival was perfect for him and Aces.
“He’s been fantastic, I had him at AmaZulu years ago and he developed even more at Wits,” said Barker.
Gumede has featured thrice for AmaZayoni already and Barker’s side came out conceding no goals in all three encounters.
“He’s the ideal defender for me. He’s strong in the air and strong on the ground. He maybe lacks a bit of pace but he’s a super player, a super team player, and I’m delighted to have him in the set up.”
Ajax Cape Town will welcome Aces to Cape Town Stadium on Sunday, October 5 with the home side seeking a return to winning ways in the Telkom Knockout after Barker’s charges handed Roger de Sa’s side their first lost last weekend.
Kick-off at 15:00.
