Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town captain, Travis Graham, is hoping to get a run out against Sporting Lisbon tonight despite the initial belief that he would be out injured for the start of the PSL season.
Graham tore his hamstring on international duty for the national under-23s against Egypt last month.
Ajax coach, Roger De Sa, has previously said that Graham would be out until the second week of the PSL season but after a chat with the captain Sport24 can reveal that there is a slim chance that he will feature in the Cape Town Cup this weekend.
“It’s good, I have been back in training since Monday so there are no problems at all so hopefully the coach gives me a run this weekend,” he said.
“It is possible (that I miss out on the Cape Town Cup), obviously the coach is more focused on the league and the cups so maybe, or probably, he will keep me for that.
Graham knows that Lisbon are a very good side.
“Sporting Lisbon is a very good side; big players like Cristiano Ronaldo came from there,” he said.
“It is a big club in Portugal; I think we are going to be coming out in full force.
“It is going to be a challenging one for us but we will go out and give our best.”
The Urban Warriors take on Sporting at 20:15 on Friday evening at the Cape Town Stadium.
