Gould out until next year

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs have revealed on the club’s official website that Morgan Gould will be on the sidelines for up to six months.

It was revealed last week on the Soccer-Laduma website that the South African international had injured himself at training, tearing his Achilles tendon, prior to the team’s Absa Premiership fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Gould subsequently went under the knife and has been ruled out of action for up to six months. The injury is a major blow to coach Stauart Baxter’s side as well as Gordon Igesund’s Bafana Bafana outfit.

“Morgan had surgery last Wednesday to repair his torn Achilles tendon. The doctor was happy with the repair. The normal recovery time is 6 months for this type of injury,” Dave Milner, the team’s physio, told the club’s official website.

As a result of the injury, Gould will, in all likeliness, miss out on the 2013 African Cup of Nations Cup which will be hosted on South African soil.
