Johannesburg - SuperSport United defender Morgan Gould was unable to hide his delight after Matsatsantsa scooped their third successive league title despite losing 2-1 to Wits at the Super Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The 26-year-old was over the moon after Mamelodi Sundowns' shock loss to Jomo Cosmos meant Gavin Hunt's men picked up a hat-trick of league titles to equal the Brazilians' record.
He told Football365.co.za: "It feels great. I have been at the club for three years, so you know it's definitely a good feeling.
"You can see the joy in the guys' eyes and in the way they were reacting last night that we have made history to become another team that won it (the title) three times in a row like Sundowns did.
"They won it the year before I got there, but it's a wonderful feeling and for myself personally to have won back-to-back league titles. I'm over the moon."
However, the Bafana Bafana defender admitted that he was also left disappointed at not winning at the Super Stadium on Wednesday night.
"I was very disappointed not to have won the game last night, but to be honest with you Wits showed more determination and more hunger you know as they were out to enhance their position in the league," he added.
"We knew we were going to have a tough game on our hands and well done to them they beat us 2-1, but obviously it was very disappointing for us not to have won."
The former Jomo Cosmos player is now hoping to secure a deal with a European club for next season, but said that if he remained at SuperSport he was confident they could make it four in a row.
"Hopefully I would have moved to an overseas club by next season, but if I'm still around I think we can definitely do it again next season. I'd love to do it again," he concluded.
