Johannebsurg - Bafana Bafana defender Morgan Gould says SuperSport United's season is far from over despite their poor start to the term.
The defending PSL champions find themselves languishing in 13th place in the PSL standings after suffering two defeats in their first three games.
Matsatsantsa are still reeling from their defeat to Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, who currently top the standings with four wins from four.
However, the 27-year-old believes that Gavin Hunt's charges will bounce back from their early season setback.
Gould told Football365.co.za: "Spirits are still high, we know that we were not supposed to lose that (Sundowns) game, but it is one of those things.
"I wouldn't say the loss was our mistake, but it is one of those things and you can't reverse what has happened. We just have to work going forward."
Gould has not ruled out SuperSport recovering to scoop a fourth consecutive league title, but he admits that it will be an uphill battle.
He continued: "We still have aspirations that we want to end up in a respectable position and if it happens that we go to the top, that would be wonderful for us."
The former Jomo Cosmos ace is part of Pitso Mosimane's 22-man squad that will travel to Sierra Leone for an African Nations Cup qualifier on Friday.
