It is all systems go in the Amakhosi camp for the start of the 2014/15 PSL season.

Talking to Chiefs official website, Ivan Bukenya, Morgan Gould, Brilliant Khuzwayo, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Kingston Nkhatha are looking forward to the new PSL season and reiterate how important this campaign is for Amakhosi.

“We must just approach it the same as we did against Aces. We will remain focused and humble and keep working hard,” Nkhatha said.

“I think it’s not going to be an easy season, but we are ready for the kickoff against Free State Stars in Qwaqwa. At this stage the teams are a closed book. We will focus on what we do as a team to start by collecting the maximum points,” said Letsholonyane.

“We are looking forward to the start of the season. We are looking sharp, and a first win in the first game of the season will inspire us and give us the confidence we need in the marathon of the league,” Khuzwayo added.

While Bafana Bafana defender Gould reveal that Amakhosi will go into the new league campaign with respect and Bukenya reflects on how important the first game is.

“With time, the league is becoming more difficult. We will approach this new season with due respect. We are motivated as a team to get started with the league programme,” Gould said,

“The preparations have gone well during preseason. We had a good game in the MTN8 quarterfinals last weekend and we hope to win our first game of the season. The first game is important to get us going and see how far we are prepared,” Bukenya believes.

Chiefs will open the season on Saturday, August 9 with a much anticipated and tricky trip to Phuthaditjhaba in Qwaqwa to face Free State Stars.

The game at the Charles Mopeli Stadium will kick-off at 15:00.
