Gothenburg after Erasmus - reports

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have reportedly received a transfer offer for the services of striker Kermit Erasmus from Swedish club IFK Gothenburg.

Gothenburg, who are currently top of the Swedish Allsvenskan standings, are hoping to wrap up a deal for the talented forward before their transfer window closes on August 11.

However, Pirates are unlikely to sanction the departure of Erasmus unless they receive an offer that is too good to refuse.

When quizzed on the club's reported interest in Erasmus, the club's sporting director, Mats Gren, declined to comment on the prospect of an imminent transfer.

Erasmus, meanwhile, is currently nursing a hamstring problem and is expected to miss the Buccaneers MTN8 quarter-final clash with Ajax Cape Town.

The match is scheduled to take place at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday, August 4.

Kick-off is at 19:30.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
