Gcaba: Great time to play Nigeria

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates' versatile defender Ayanda Gcaba is confident that Bafana Bafana will triumph in Nigeria when they meet the Supper Eagles on Wednesday.

The Bucs defender said on Sunday that the fact that Bafana Bafana has already qualified for next year’s AFCON, “will give us a perfect platform to play our game.”

“I think it was a great win over Sudan; the guys just have to go to Nigeria to enjoy now." Gcaba told the club's officialwebsite.

“We are going to the finals next year; that is already guaranteed; so, I think Nigeria will be up for a great match from us,” said the Bucs’ player, who dons the number 2 jersey.

He added: “We have nothing to lose now; win or lose we are already qualified; Nigeria will have to run for the ball.

“I honestly think we put ourselves in a situation we now have control over; it is for me the perfect time to face Nigeria as we have nothing to lose and we can play with our heads now and free.

“I would like to see us winning, but I know Nigeria will fight hard, but for us it is just a match we have no pressure and that is what excites me more about this match.”
