Former Amakhosi legend dies

Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs player, Valdez ‘Shaka’ Nqcobo, has passed away at the age of 64.

He was nicknamed after Zulu chief, Shaka for his physique.

Nqcobo was born in Cato Manor in Durban in 1950 and played 260 matches for Amakhosi between 1972 and 1985, scoring 158 goals in the process.

He was named Footballer of the Year in February 1980.
