FSS to add to Pirates misery

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates will look to return to winning ways in the Absa Premiership when they host Free State Stars at Orlando Stadium.

Pirates saw a three-game winning streak come to an abrupt end when they were beaten 1-0 away by Chippa United.

The Soweto side has claimed four points from their three home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Black Aces (away), Kaizer Chiefs (home) and Platinum Stars (away).

Vladimir Vermezovic’s Buccaneers are placed fifth on the Absa Premiership log with 11 points from seven matches.

Stars recorded a third win from their last five league matches when they beat Moroka Swallows 3-2 at home.

The Free State side has claimed three points from as many away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bloemfontein Celtic (away), Moroka Swallows (home) and Chippa United (away).

Ea Lla Koto are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 10 points from seven matches.

In head-to-head stats, Pirates and Stars have met in 49 league matches since 1986.

The Buccaneers have 22 wins compared to six for Ea Lla Koto, while 21 matches have been drawn.

Pirates have won 13 of their 25 home matches against Stars, suffering just two defeats in the process.

Last season Bucs took four points off Ea Lla Koto, winning 2-0 in Soweto and drawing 1-1 away in the Free State.

Kick-off set for 20:15 on Saturday, October 18.
