FS Stars target three points

Cape Town - Free State Stars will look to boost their hopes of avoiding relegation from the Absa Premiership when they host Ajax Cape Town at Goble Park.

Stars claimed their first league win of 2015 when they defeated Polokwane City 3-2 away from home on Saturday.

The Free State side has claimed 16 points from 11 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bidvest Wits, Chippa United (both home) and Bloemfontein Celtic (away).

Ea Lla Koto are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with 25 points from 25 matches.

Ajax recorded a third win from their last four league matches when they defeated University of Pretoria 2-0 on Friday.

The Cape Town side has claimed nine points from 12 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Maritzburg United, Bloemfontein Celtic (both away) and Moroka Swallows (home).

The Urban Warriors are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 37 points from 25 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and Ajax have met in 23 league matches since 1999/2000.

Ea Lla Koto have 11 wins compared to six for the Urban Warriors, while six matches have been drawn.

Stars boast an unbeaten home record against Ajax, with eight wins and three draws from 11 matches.

When the teams met earlier this season, the Urban Warriors claimed a 2-1 home win in Cape Town.

Kick-off is at 18:00 on Tuesday, April 21.
