Cape Town - Ex-Kaizer Chiefs trio Itumeleng Khune, Tefu Mashamaite and Mandla Masango are officially free-agents and can join any team on a free transfer.
The three players, who helped Amakhosi to the double last season (Absa Premiership and MTN 8 Cup), have been grabbing the headlines after the confirmation that they did not renew their deals at the Naturena.
Sport24 reported that Khune along with Mashamaite and Masango opted not to extend their stay at the club.
It was revealed that Chiefs tabled contract extensions for the players but the trio ultimately decided not to put pen to paper.
Their contracts expired on Tuesday, June 30 and now have the choice to join any club.
Throughout the 2014/15 campaign Mamelodi Sundowns had reportedly been interested in signing Khune but there have been no and are willing to meet the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper's wage demands.
Khune is currently on camp with the national side with Shakes Mashaba's side set take on Mauritius in a CHAN 2016 qualifier on Sunday, July 5.
Pitso Mosimane is said to also be interested in the services of Mashamaite. The Brazilians coach wants the 30-year-old to fill the void left by Alje Schut, who returned to Holland after the completion of his contract at Chloorkop.
With Stuart Baxter resigning from Chiefs, the British coach is reportedly keen on taking Masango along with him to Genclerbirligi, with Khune also being considered for a move to Turkey.
Masango has also been linked with move to Mpumalanga Black Aces.
The PSL transfer window has officially opened and teams will slowly start to make additions to their squads ahead of new season.
