Evans training with Ajax CT

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns defender Rheece Evans is currently training with Ajax Cape Town with the hope of landing a contract and things are looking positive for the former Maritzburg United player.

Coach Roger de Sa tells Sport24 that the player has been doing well at training and that he is impressed with him.

"Yes Evans is a very good defender," the former Orlando Pirates coach said.

“He has been training with us and I am impressed with his performance.

“He is going to be playing for us in the Cape Town Cup and the deal could be possible depending on what the two chairmen agree on.

“That one is not in my hands, or in the player's hands but between the two teams.

“If the issue of money, and other logistics, can be finalised, then we can have him.

“I want to have him in the team this season.”

Evans joined Sundown last season but he saw very little action at the club which has prompted his move away from Chloorkop for this coming season.
