Cape Town – Kermit Erasmus’ agent, Rob Moore, confirms that Zamalek and Orlando Pirates have not mentioned anything about a possible transfer.
Sport24 reported that Pirates have accepted a R20m offer from the Egyptian giants for the 25-year-old striker.
The 25-year-old, who recently told media he feels undervalued by being constantly overlooked for South Africa, was Pirates' top goal scorer last season with 16 goals in all competitions.
Al Ahly were strongly linked with Erasmus last year and if his move to Egypt goes through, the former SuperSport United hitman has been offered a whopping R350 000 per month salary, according to KickOff.
Moore reveals that the Buccaneers know how things should be done if a possible transfer were to take place and that Zamalek too have not approached him over a possible switch to Egypt.
“The protocol in football is that a club interested in buying a player must first reach an agreement with the club the player is registered at. Once that transfer fee is agreed, the selling club must then inform the player’s representative that he is free to discuss personal terms,” said Moore.
“Therefore it is unclear what the status of the deal is. A lot is being said, but as the official representative of the player I have yet to hear to from either team.”
