Efstathiou: Ajax need firepower

Cape Town - Erwin Isaacs will play his football at Ajax Cape Town for the remainder of the season, after an agreement was reached with parent club, Bidvest Wits.

The Urban Warriors will also have the option to make the agreement permanent once this loan spell is completed.

"Ajax Cape Town have announced the signing of Bidvest Wits winger-come-striker, Erwin Isaacs, on a loan deal until the end of the 2014/15 PSL season. Ajax have retained the option to make his stay permanent," read a statement from the club.

Isaacs will not be in unfamiliar territory, as he used to play his football at Santos, where he actually built quite the reputation for himself.

Isaacs has also worked with Ajax coach Roger de Sa before, during his time at Wits.

Ajax Cape Town CEO, Ari Efstathiou said: "We desperately needed to add some firepower upfront and we are confident that Erwin, together with Toriq Losper, will add exactly what we missed in the first half of the season.

“Erwin has great support in Cape Town and I am sure the Ajax supporters will be right behind him when he steps onto the field in the red and white."
