Draw delights Tuks' Barker

Pretoria - Despite failing to wrap up their game early in the first half, University of Pretoria coach Steve Barker was pleased with a draw in their PSL clash against Wits on Tuesday night.

The AmaTuks and the Clever Boys shared the spoils in a 1-all stalemate at the Bidvest stadium.

Barker’s side opened the scoring courtesy of Atusaye Nyondo before Henrico Botes opened his account for Wits after the interval to level matters.

"We played very well tonight (Tuesday)," said Barker

"We were unlucky not to go 2-0 up in the first half.

"I think that if we scored a second goal probably we were going to hold on to our lead.

"But, the boys tried hard and credit must go to Wits for putting us under a lot of pressure in the second half.

"But it was a valuable point for us at the end of the day."

AmaTuks next league game will be away to the newly promoted side, Chippa United, at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth next Wednesday.
