The inaugural Dr Hage Geingob Cup took place last year and was won by the Brazilians.

On Thursday night, at the launch of the second edition of the cup, it was confirmed that Pitso Mosimane’s side would return to defend their title.

Sundowns are set to take on Primeiro de Agosto from Angola on Thursday, July 23 at 19:30.

If they win that game they will play in the final against Namibian club African Stars or another Namibian side that is yet to be announced.

The Namibian public have the chance to vote via SMS for the club that they would most like to participate in the tournament alongside Sundowns, Primeiro de Agosto and Namibian Premier League champions African Stars.

The final will take place at 17:00 on Saturday, July 25.
