'Downs out to dim FSS

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns and Free State Stars will both look to build on midweek Absa Premiership derby wins when they meet at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Sundowns ended a run of four successive draws when they defeated local rivals SuperSport United 3-1 at home in midweek.

The Tshwane side has claimed nine points from six home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Orlando Pirates, University of Pretoria and Maritzburg United (all away).

The Brazilians are placed fifth on the Absa Premiership log with 20 points from 12 matches.

Stars ended a run of three successive losses when they defeated derby rivals Bloemfontein Celtic 1-0 in midweek.

The Free State side has claimed just three points from six away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Black Aces, Kaizer Chiefs (both away) and Platinum Stars (home).

Ea Lla Koto are placed 12th on the Absa Premiership log with 14 points from 13 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Sundowns Stars have met in 49 league matches since 1986.

The Brazilians have claimed 22 wins compared to 10 for Ea Lla Koto, while 17 matches have been drawn.

Sundowns have won 14 of their 25 home matches against Stars, suffering just three defeats in the process.
