According to KickOff, Verbauwhede admits that he is on the fence as to how much game-time he will get next season since Sundowns sent him on loan last season to Free State Stars.
"That is the question you should ask the CEO at Sundowns and maybe also the coach," Verbauwhede said.
"They have just exercised my option for one year longer. I don't know what they are up to with me for the future. Whatever they propose, I will try to co-operate."
However, the Belgian ‘keeper also reveals that there are two clubs in his homeland vying for his services.
"Two teams in Belgium want my services. At the end of the day it's all about money, how much Sundowns want, how much they are willing to pay. At the end of the day it's business, and if it's a win for everyone it's okay. But for me I want to stay in South Africa."
