Downs give Chabangu the boot

2010-09-01 14:19

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns have given Lerato Chabangu his clearance and the player is now free to find a club of his choice.

The striker is notorious for his off-the-field shenanigans which has often led to him losing his place in his respective club’s starting line-up.

The Thembisa-born Chabangu had rejoined Sundowns at the start of last season, after rejoining them from league champions SuperSport United, but after being injured Chabangu didn’t feature in the Downs’ starting line-up as much as he would have liked and was out for most of the season.

Now the former Bafana Bafana player sees himself clubless after the Chloorkop based side handed him his clearance and paid him out of his remaining contract, which still had one season left on it.

The Player’s Union helped Chabangu in obtaining the clearance after he asked the body to help him, as the player failed to receive a single offer during the transfer window.

ive never seen a soccer team run like Sundowns in the whole world, this guy was bought back frm SSU for some millions after 1 season, and now he is being paid i assume a couple of millions left on his contract....for doing NOTHING!!! Seriously Motsepe mst really think twice about keeping the management of this club.....YOH!!

Motsepe is not a soccer man. I dont think he understand football. I wonder if he played it as a young boy. Sundowns is destryoing SA football. Look at what is happening to Tso, what happened to Shakes. It was unwise for Shabangu to return back to Sundowns. Shabangu must get join a small team to regain his confidence and please dont go to Pi-rats or Chips, they will frustrate you more. Motsepe change your management, they are misleading you.

You know nothing about soccer, follow soccer not news papers. I blame his agent full of dirty tricks always using media to support his agendas.

He was never a quality player but a one day wonder player and lm not surprised by Sundowns decision to release him as a free agent.

Lack of Descilplne seems to be destroying our SA footballer. This young man was one of the future assumssions to lead the Bafan team but because of ill-desciplpine everything changed.

Don't blame Patrice Motse for lack of descipline of Chabangu.and for him not playing soccer when he was young has nothing to do with Sundowns playes.by the way Sundowns is the second best team on log..Get your facts right and stop blaming people who have nothing to do with players perfomance and attitude!

where are we going or coming from? Cuz 2day you buy & tomorrow you sell.I respect Mr. Motsepe, but really don't understand him,the boy was fine at SSU, Just because Patrice has got money..thus these means he can play games with these poor boys. [come mzansi players ,think otherwise ] SOCCER IS YOUR CAREER
