After weeks of speculation, Billiat finally signed with ‘Downs earlier this week.

The 23-year-old speedster was also linked with a possible move to SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates.

The Brazilians confirmed on Monday morning that an agreement with Ajax Cape Town was reached and a deal was finalised in the afternoon.

“It is great to have a player of the calibre of Billiat on board, and clearly competition for a starting berth will be massive. This can only lead to a competitive spirit that is so critical in any team,” Sundowns spokesperson Kabelo Mosito said on the club’s website.

As expected, Billiat’s arrival at Chloorkop means that the former Santos striker, Eleazar Rodgers, will go back to the Mother City to join Ajax Cape Town as part of the deal.

Billiat is most likely to make his Sundowns debut on Wednesday, August 28 against Platinum Stars at the Loftus.
