'Downs boosted by Schut return

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane revealed captain Alje Schut has returned to training and could feature in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday.

The Brazilians take on Ajax Cape Town in their last shot at silverware this season after losing out after losing out to Kaizer Chiefs for the Premiership title.

Schut has already indicated this will be his last term at the club and expressed his desire to return to the Netherlands.

Mosimane and the Sundowns squad will be looking to send him home with a winners' medal.

When the Dutchman was stretchered off in Sundowns' game against Vasco de Gama in the Nedbank Cup competition last month, it was unclear if he would be back in time for the final.

However, it now seems as if the strong defender will be fit.

"He trained, he was kicking and it looks good. I think he will be ready for the final," Mosimane told African Football.

"It is important to give other guys a chance. We were a bit at sixes and sevens at the back [against AmaTuks], but why substitute, give the other guys a chance."

Kick-off is at 15:00.
