Cape Town - Platinum Stars and Mamelodi Sundowns will renew their rivalry at the start of the 2015/16 Absa Premiership season.
Stars ended last season in 11th place, with 34 points from 30 matches.
The Rustenburg side won just one of their final seven games of the previous campaign, claiming seven points from the available 21.
Sundowns finished in second spot last season, recording 57 points from their 30 matches.
The Tshwane side ended the campaign with a hat-trick of victories, but failed to win any of the four matches prior to that – a string of results that cost them the title.
In head-to-head stats, Stars and Sundowns have met in 24 league matches since 2003/04.
The Brazilians have nine wins compared to six for Dikwena, while nine matches have been drawn.
Stars have won just two of their 12 home matches against ‘Downs, suffering six defeats in the process.
Last season the Brazilians took four points off Dikwena, drawing 1-1 in Tshwane before winning the return game 2-1 in Rustenburg.
Three of the teams’ last five league meetings have ended in 1-1 draws.
The match will take place at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday, August 8.
Kick-off is at 20:15.
