In an action packed game, Knowledge Musona headed the game’s only goal in the 24th minute, to take his season tally of goals to four in all competitions as he turned home Siphiwe Tshabalala’s cross.
Celtic paid for a nervous start by conceding early on although the visitors attacked with more gusto after the break Chiefs held on and should have at least have grabbed a second goal, Amakhosi coach Vladimir Vermezovic will nevertheless be happy with the three points.

Two minutes later Chiefs were on the attack again this time Tshabalala managed to sending in a telling ball over the Celtic rear guard towards Musona who headed the ball from close range past Tignyemb to give Chiefs the lead.
Ten minutes later Masenamela pushed up the left wing and was play the ball by Tshabalala he then drove it towards goal, Nhleko managed to get to the ball Celtic managed to clear it fell for Musona who his back to goal spun round and hit for the target but from a tight angle could only find the side netting.
Celtic’s best chance of the half was tame header from Paulse at goal which hardly troubled Khune, Celtic as a result of their overly cautious defensive approach went into the break a goal down.
Early in the second half Chiefs had the ball in the back of the net but Yende was adjudged to have been off side when he picked up a pass from Tshabalala, that was in the 48th minute two minutes on and Yende could not control a defence splitting ball from Musona as he neared goal.
Celtic looked far more purposeful when on the offensive in the second half and threatened Khune’s goal on a number of occasions, in the 59th minute Olomu managed to flick Hlela’s corner from the left towards goal the effort had Khune leaping across his goal line to push the ball out for a corner.
Chiefs, realising that Celtic were pushing hard for an equaliser, went in search of an insurance goal, on 64 minutes Masenamela’s initial shot was blocked by Tignyemb the loose ball fell to Musona who tried side footing the ball past the stranded keeper but Nthethe blocked the ball, which then fell to Tshabalala who drove it wide high and wide.
Late on Khune made an important save stopping Kekana’s well hit pile driver from 20 yards out, in injury time both Tshabalala and Musona spurned good goal scoring chances but Chiefs managed to hold on for an important victory while Celtic lose for the second time this season.
