Dolly: It’s humbling to play for 'Downs

Cape Town - Keagan Dolly has trained with his new teammates for only a week and admits that it has been a humbling experience to work alongside the experienced stars at Mamelodi Sundowns.

Dolly made the move back to his boyhood club after a successful spell at Ajax Cape Town  in which he picked up the young Absa Premiership player of the year award for the 2013/14 season and helped the Ikamva side reach the Nedbank Cup final this year.

The 22-year-old midfielder spoke to Sport24 about the move back to Tshwane and commented on his first week of training.

“It’s going well, everyone has accepted me and we’re in Mpumalanga now in camp,” he said.

“I know Percy Tau and some of the guys like Khama Billiat from Ajax and some of the older guys like Katlego Mashego – he stayed close to where I grew up. It’s humbling.

“It shows that there is a start to everything and it just opened my eyes that I need to work harder to be at that position again and to get my position in the team.

“The two clubs are different so obviously the training will be different."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
