Doctor makes Khune admission

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Doctor Khumalo has  revealed that Itumeleng Khune might join Orlando Pirates after all.

Ahead of Chiefs friendly against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where Sport24 reported that Itumeleng Khune will be named in the starting XI but with the shot-stopper's contract nearing it's end, Khumalo has come out saying that the goalkeeper might opt to move to Parktown if he does leave Naturena.

According to KickOff, Kaizer Chiefs will use the friendly against the German side to re-focus on their PSL title aspirations.

“We’re hoping the game against Hoffenheim will help the players recap on Kaizer Chiefs’ intentions in terms of our tactical approach, considering that some of the guys are with the national team as well as all that has happened with Kingston [Nkhatha] leaving and Itu [Khune] might be going to [Orlando] Pirates,” Khumalo said.

Khune has been linked with a sensational switch to arch-rivals Orlando Pirates, who have failed to settle on a first-choice goalkeeper since the death of Senzo Meyiwa.

Mamelodi Sundowns have also been linked with the 27-year-old goalkeeper, who is in the last six months of his contract with Amakhosi.

The PSL resumes on February 10 following the conclusion of AFCON 2015.
