Dlamini gunning for Chiefs

Cape Town - AmaZulu midfielder Goodman Dlamini understands, as well as anybody, that a win against Kaizer Chiefs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday will enhance the club's survival prospects.

Usuthu are currently 16th in the Premiership standings and have been for the greater part of the season.

However, a win against Chiefs will see the club move as high as 13th, which will effectively put significant pressure on Free State Stars and Moroka Swallows ahead of their matches next week.

"Unfortunately in the situation we are at, a draw will not assist us at all but we need a win," Dlamini told his club's official website

The jury is still out on whether AmaZulu have the capacity to upset the applecart this week, especially against a Chiefs team desperate to win the league title again.

However, it is also perhaps worth noting that Usuthu are also desperate for results and that is something that Dlamini thinks will stand his team in good stead.

"Yes Kaizer Chiefs are in good form but if we continue to display the same attitude we did against Free State Stars and our previous matches, we will get the three points," he added.

"Chiefs are currently in good form and I am sure they will also be trying to maintain their lead. Hard work and team work can give us the desired results.

“Over the past we have won matches that many did not think we would, so we are fully aware how important this match is to us."

Kick-off is at 19:00.
