Dlamini breathes sigh of relief

Cape Town - Jomo Cosmos assistant coach, Siza Dlamini, helped lead his side to PSL promotion on Wednesday night but he claimed that the game was too tense to be enjoyable.

Ezenkosi managed to secure a 1-0 win over an already relegated Swallows side to win promotion to the PSL at the expense of Black Leopards.

The tight encounter saw Cosmos take the lead only in the 75th minute but Dlamini told Sport24 that he and Jomo Sono could not manage to truly celebrate at that point.

“There was a lot in my mind saying that they might get the equaliser," said Dlamini.

"But we believed that the boys wouldn’t let Swallows come back. We scored late but we knew that if Swallows came back they would have ruined the celebrations that had already started in the stands.”

They managed to hold on and Dlamini explained that it would have been massively disappointing if they didn’t after the long-term planning that went into building a side for promotion this season.

“We have built this team for this reason (promotion) for the past two seasons.

"If you start now and hope to get results by the end of the season it would have been impossible but we made sure to lay the foundations.”

Jomo Cosmos will return to the Premier league once again after spending two tough seasons in the first division.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
