Diski Challenge heats up

Cape Town - Round two of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge will be played in Stellenbosch on Sunday with the remaining eight teams in action.

The fun-filled Multichoice Diski Challenge kicked off with a bang at the King Zwelithini Stadium at Umlazi in Durban last weekend.

The home sides AmaZulu and Maritzburg United failed to register victories on the opening day, losing to Gauteng teams Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs respectively.

Bidvest Wits and Platinum Stars played 1-1 draw after Bloemfontein Celtic and University of Pretoria drew 0-0.

On Sunday, September 21 the remaining teams will play their opening fixtures.

Ajax Cape Town will look to make home advantage count when they face Moroka Swallows while Mamelodi Sundowns take on Free State Stars in the day's late game.

Since the launch in August the event has got rave reviews from the football fraternity, mainly because it’s the first of its kind in the country with the number of opportunities that will be available to the youngsters.

Not only will the players be able to showcase their talent on the field but MultiChoice will also be offering life and leadership skills training to the players.

If the teams can produce the same rivalry that exists when the senior teams meet in the PSL matches, we can expect fireworks from the onset.

All four matches take place at Stellenbosch's Coetzenburg Stadium on Sunday and entrance is free.

Fixtures:

Chippa United v Mpumalanga Black Aces (10:30)

Ajax Cape Town v Moroka Swallows (12:30)

SuperSport United v Polokwane City (14:30)

Mamelodi Sundowns v Free State Stars (16:30)
