Dikwena welcome Aces

Cape Town - Platinum Stars and Black Aces will both be looking to get off to a strong start at the resumption of the Absa Premiership when they meet at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Stars failed to win any of their last four league matches before the break, suffering a 3-1 loss to Free State Stars in their last outing.

The Rustenburg side has claimed 10 points from seven home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Orlando Pirates (home), Bloemfontein Celtic (away), and Moroka Swallows (home).

Dikwena are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with 17 points from 16 matches.

Aces’ winless run was taken to three matches when they lost 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs in their last outing.

The Mpumalanga side has claimed 13 points from eight away matches this season, suffering just one defeat in the process.

Their next three league opponents are SuperSport United (home), University of Pretoria (away) and AmaZulu (home).

AmaZayoni are placed ninth on the Absa Premiership log with 21 points from 17 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and Aces have met in seven league matches since 2009/10.

Dikwena have three wins compared to one for AmaZayoni, while three matches have been drawn.

Stars’ three home matches against Aces have produced one win for each team and one draw.

When the teams met earlier this season in Mpumalanga, Dikwena claimed a 2-0 away win thanks to goals from Mere and Mabena.
