Platinum Stars want Rodgers

Cape Town – Platinum Stars are eager to replace Siphelele Mthembu with Mamelodi Sundowns striker Eleazar Rodgers.

According to Soccer Laduma, Dikwena are looking for a top striker following the departures of Mthembu as well as Henrico Botes.

The deal is set to be completed within the next 24 hours.

Rodgers left Santos in 2012 and joined the Brazilians, but only made 15 appearances for the club before joining Ajax Cape Town on a loan spell.

The Brazilians are looking to get Rodgers off their books as they look to add Keagan Dolly for a reported fee of R7m from the Urban Warriors.

Platinum Stars take on Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld on Saturda, August 2 at 15:00.
