Dikwena eager to bounce back

Cape Town - Polokwane City will look to extend their unbeaten run in the PSL when they host Platinum Stars at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

PSL: Our pick of the pile

Polokwane’s unbeaten run stands at four games after they held league leaders Kaizer Chiefs to a goalless draw in their last outing.

The Limpopo side is still searching for their first home win this season, with two draws and three defeats from five matches as hosts.

Their next three league opponents are Chippa United (home), SuperSport United (away) and University of Pretoria (home).

Rise and Shine are placed 11th on the Absa Premiership log with 14 points from 12 matches.

Stars returned to winning form after a six-match dry spell in the league, defeating AmaZulu 4-2 at home. Fresh from a 3-2 defeat in the Telkom Knockout Final, Allan Freese will be hoping his side can start to mend their wounds as they look to climb the PSL standings.

The Rustenburg side has claimed three points from their five away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Moroka Swallows, Kaizer Chiefs (both away) and Bidvest Wits (home).

Dikwena are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with 11 points from 10 matches.

In head-to-head stats, City and Stars have met in just two previous top flight matches.

Both of those encounters took place last season, with Dikwena winning their home match 2-1, while the return game in Polokwane ended 2-2.

Kick-off at 19:30 on Wednesday, December 3.
