Dikwena back in training

Cape Town - Platinum Stars began their pre-season yesterday in Rustenburg as players underwent medical tests before they can be taken through their paces by coach Cavin Johnson and his technical team.

A senior player at the club told Sport24 that there were no new faces, but they are expecting to see some soon.

“Look, today was just about medicals, but it was just us the players who were with the club in the previous season,” the player said.

“It’s obvious the team needs some strengthening so we are expecting new faces in the upcoming weeks.”

The player said they expect to start the season well compared to last season where they found the team at the wrong side of the league table.

There has been unconfirmed speculation that Dikwena are interested in signing Michael Morton and Mor Diouf, who are highly ranked by Johnson after working with the players during his spell as coach of Supersport United.
