According to the Soccer Laduma website, Free State Stars put a serious dent in Pirates’ PSL aspirations, holding the defending league champions to their sixth consecutive PSL draw.
Despite Orlando Pirates being awarded a penalty, and the Soweto team being fortunate to have Free State Stars’ Luyolo Nomandela goal ruled out for offside, De Sa could not resist criticising the referee and his assistants for their performance.
“Officials? What are those? I don’t think they pitched up really.
“Just because you have a whistle, doesn’t mean you’re a referee. I think you need more than that, but today was just one of those days. I suppose they have bad games too and if they have a few bad games in a row we should get rid of them, but we can’t do that,” De Sa said.
Orlando Pirates are six points behind PSL leaders Kaizer Chiefs and two points behind second-placed Platinum Stars with five games in the season remaining.
Pirates' next game is against Wits on Saturday, April 27 at the Mbombela Stadium.
